Ardnamurcan is a beautiful yet rugged peninsula on the remote West Coast of the Scottish Highlands, in fact Ardnamurchan is the most westerly place on the British mainland.

The garden is a new project established in April 2010, its main aims are to establish a fruit and vegetable garden for the community of West Ardnamurchan.

We have been fortunate to have accessed funding from the Climate Change Fund and as part of their remit for the first year, the garden is a not for profit enterprise and as such will distribute any produce free of charge to the community it serves.

The Garden will be a resource for everybody to find out about growing fruit and vegetables, as well as making it easier for local people to grow and eat more local, seasonal food.

We envisage over the coming months and years there will be polytunnels, raised beds and open areas of ground, all for growing food crops.

The community will be able to decide how it wants to use the space. It is likely that there will be communal areas, as well as spaces for people who want their own bit of ground to grow their own veg.
